Tales of the Purple House
Directed by
2022

From their ’Purple House’ in the South of Lebanon, French-Iraqi director Abbas Fahdel and his Lebanese wife, the painter Nour Ballouk, start exploring a multifaceted country that seems to be on the edge of the abyss. Guided only by their perspective, each of them tries, through their art, to grasp the beauty and hardships of a generous country that struggles to feed its children.

The film gives us the personal and poetic perspective of an artist couple on the history and present day of a torn country. At the same time, it shows that everyday life goes on and that art and beauty play a part in it.
