Born in Baghdad. Aida Schläpfer Al Hassani is founder and president of the association "International Arab Film Festival Zurich" and co-director of the festival. She studied art and media design and Zurich, then film directing at the Academy of the Arts in Cairo. She directed a number of documentaries, the latest about Christian minorities in Iraq. 2013 she played the woman lead in the Iraqi fiction film "Al Haj Nejim" by Amer Alwan.
