On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Nordic Film Festival, the festival has been extended by one day and featured 199 films in 6 days. The INTERFILM jury awarded the Church Film Prize which is endowed with 5000.- € to "Woman at War", directed by Benedikt Erlingsson from Iceland. The film also won the main prize of the festival, the NDR Film Prize, as well as the Baltic Film Prize and the Audience Award of the Luebeck newspaper, the "Lübecker Nachrichten".
The feature film competition presented 17 films. The Baltic States which celebrate their independence 100 years ago, and Iceland were the focus of this year's festival with films in all sections. A small homage in the section "Specials" was dedicated to Ingmar Bergman.
