A sensitive ten-year-old boy growing up in the Brazilian hinterland and suffering from a visual disorder lives in constant fear of his irascible father. The only one he can confide in about his troubles is his older brother. When he dies in an accident and the quarrels with his father get out of hand, his mother decides to send him away.
Full of maternal love and tenderness as well as little and simple human desires, “Mutum” gives hope for families living in their limited world by opening a window into the universe of possibilities.
