The Icelandic film "Bergmál" (Echo) by Rúnar Rúnarsson, who also wrote the screenplay, won the € 5,000 Church Film Prize of the INTERFILM Jury in Lübeck in 2019. The main prize of the festival went to a film from Iceland as well. The NDR Film Award was given to "Hvítur, hvítur dagur" (White, White Day) by Hlynur Pálmason.
The festival was opened with the Swedish feature film "Fire and Flame" (Eld och Lågor) by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein. The festival showed a total of 196 films, 18 of them in the feature film competition. In the section "Drama Series" new television series from the north were screened, and in the "Full Dome", a circular tent, 360 ° films. The retrospective devoted itself to the subject of espionage in Scandinavian and Baltic films in the century between 1913 and 2012.
