The Protestant Film Jury in Germany, which is overseen by the Gemeinschaftswerk der evangelischen Publizistik in Frankfurt am Main, has selected the Italian film "C'e ancora domani" by Paola Cortellesi, who also plays the female lead, as FILM OF THE YEAR 2024. The jury regularly awards the title FILM OF THE MONTH to a film's current cinema release. At the end of the year, the jury selects a FILM OF THE YEAR from the twelve FILMS OF THE MONTH. In doing so, it honours the distributor of the film, in 2024 Tobis Filmverleih.
The jury's statement says: "The directorial debut of presenter and actress Paola Cortellesi was sensationally successful in Italy and sparked a fierce debate. Because the fight for women's rights that she tells us about is not over. Cortellesi plays the leading role. She embodies Delia as a sensitive, approachable woman who gradually discovers her strength. And who realises that she is not only fighting for herself, but also for others. "Tomorrow is another day" is the most lively, touching and entertaining plea for solidarity between women in a long time."
The award ceremony took place on 14 January 2024 at the German Film Museum in Frankfurt. The laudatory speech was held by Dr Sonia Campanini from Goethe University, where she teaches as a junior professor at the Institute for Theatre, Film and Media Studies.
