This Brazilian dystopic fable follows an unlikely hero in a search for freedom. A 77 years-old woman escapes from a future that has been written for her by an authoritarian state. In the beautifully shot fierce landscape of the Amazonas river, her adventure, full of challenges but also unexpected friendships and humor, warns of the dangers of exclusion in our modern societies today and fosters the hope of finding a way out.

Festivals

The Ecumenical Jury of the 75th Berlinale awarded its prizes to "The Blue Trail" by Gabriel Mascaro from Brazil (International Competition), "The Heart is a Muscle" by Imran Hamdulay from South Africa (Panorama) and "Holding Liat" by Brandon Kramer from the USA (Forum). The Golden Bear went to the Norwegian film "Dreams" by Dag Johan Haugerud.
