Three Japanese tourists – a soldier, a divorced woman, and a salaryman – make a pilgrimage to the Ganges River in India, each in hopes of finding some spiritual release or meaning in life. (MUBI)

Deep River is a beautifully crafted film which describes with emotion the personal and spiritual quest taken up by three individuals who try to bring a sense of meaning into their lives, coming to terms with their past, able finally to accept the legacy of a person precious to them. By the universality of the subject this film contributes to the evolution of the spiritual and human values recognised by all.
