25 women from South Africa tell from their own experience of the bloody history of their country from 1929 until today. They were lawyers, politicians, farmers, housewives, trade unionists, students. They were banished and driven out. They have been arrested, tortured, and their children murdered. Today these women are ministers, politicians, farmers, housewives, etc. How do women see the new South Africa? (Maj Wechselmann)
In a world where discussions of apartheid are dominated by a male perspective, this film respects women´s resistance to apartheid, black, white, Indian, with expert use of archival material to enable audiences to see South African history and the complexity of the experiences of violence, loss and political action.
