This poetic film relates simply and without pretention a child's first steps towards cutting loose from the oppressing authority of adults and the apprenticeship of solidarity.

The Prize of the Ecumenical Jury goes to the richest film in competition for its form and content. In its stupefying images it shows, in spite of religious and cultural differences, spiritual values which form a counterpoint to the materialsm and destruction of the environment, values which are essential for the survival of creation.
