The film successfully adapts Dostoyevsky's classic "The Idiot" to Czech reality today, posing the question of the return of Christ during the Christmas season to a world which is alien to his presence.

Dizdar succeeds in focussing on the actual problems and conflicts on the Balkans, although the film is set in London. By typical British humour and a unique way of telling its story the film avoids excessive moralising.
