"Supa Modo" by Likarion Wainaina is the winner of the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury in Zlín 2018. The Kenyan-German co-production which was screened in the international competition for children's films also won the Golden Slipper, the main award of the festival.

With the Icelandic children's film "Viti i Vestmannaeyjum" (The Falcons) by Bragi Thor Hinriksson about a conflict that erupts during a football tournament, the 58th Zlín Film Festival for Children and Youth was opened. The festival presented 300 films from 55 countries, 16 of which were in the two competitions for children's films and films for young people. Among them, the Ecumenical Jury was looking for its laureate.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Czechoslovak Republic, the festival screened a retrospective of Czechoslovak film. One of the best known is the fairytale film "Tři oříšky pro Popelku" (Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella, Czechoslovakia, GDR 1973) by Václav Vorlíček.

The Ecumenical jury gives its prize to an emotional story; simple, pure, but still profound. This film invites us to face death from the perspective of a little girl, who does it with dignity, joy and courage. Like a real superhero.
