After their divorce, Sylvie’s ex-husband Pablo abducted their five-year-old son Felipe from France and took him to South America. After Pablo died in a car accident, Felipe was raised by Pablo’s mother Norma and her daughter Maria. Sylvie has finally picked up Felipe’s trace in the Uruguayan countryside, Pablo’s home country. Mehdi is a social worker, who has lost his faith in his job and has been so moved by Sylvie’s struggle that he has decided to leave everything to help find her son and bring him back to France. ​At the 66th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg the prizes have been awarded. The winner of the prize of the Ecumenical Jury is "Une vie ailleurs" (Life Beyond Me), directed by Olivier Peyon.
