It’s like a cruel fairy tale: the story of an old woman who sacrificed herself for her family, sold her house so that her grandsons could start up businesses, and in her old age she finds herself without a roof over her head. A Babusja needs asylum within her family in Russia today. By showing this the film confronts its viewers with the significance of their social responsibility. The face of the old woman reflects dignity and courage expressing a spirituality that may bring hope of community and solidarity between generations
