An emotionally charged fantasy drama about vulnerability and a fight into imagination. Barbara is a teenager who leaves behind a difficult day-to-day existence at home and in school for a world of fantasy among giants. With the support of a new friend, and the school’s student counsellor, she gets help to fight her demons, bullies and giants. (Festival information, BUFF Malmö 2018)
Imaginative and engaging about a girl´s escape into a horrifying world where she battles monsters, both literally and figuratively. While the film is about grief and death, it still manages to be hopeful, and the element of fantasy helps viewers of all ages to talk about the most difficult questions in life.
