Najwa, Nawal and Siham, three Palestinian widows, live with their 11 children in a house on Shuhada Street in Hebron. Their house lies on the border; the façade is under Israeli occupation, the Palestinian authority controls the back. At the entrance to the house a military post, on the roof the Israeli army has placed a watch point over Palestinian Hebron. Three women, trapped in the middle, constantly surrounded by Israeli soldiers, carry on their difficult lives in a perverse situation. (mec film)

The directors enter enemy territory: the Israeli filmmakers observe the everyday life of three Palestinian widows and their children in a house in Hebron. Surrounded by the Israeli army, the women try to preserve remnants of dignity and self-determination. We admire the courage with which the authors subvert the traditional images of the enemy. On a high journalistic level, their film opens our eyes to the reality behind the daily flood of news - and it shows that peace is sometimes only a snowball's throw away.
