Teresa Reyes Tunay

Teresa R. Tunay (*1944) is a Filipino journalist, writer and editor who has spent 58 years at the intersection of journalism, cinema, media, culture, ethics, and faith. She holds a Litt. B. in Journalism and an MA in Oriental Religions and Cultures from the University of Santo Tomas. Her career has included writing and editing for leading Philippine publications, as well as serving as a foreign correspondent for international news agencies and a commissioned writer for UNICEF. For 26 years, she has been involved in the communications work of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). In 2000, she co-founded CINEMA (Catholic Initiative for Enlightened Movie Appreciation), the CBCP’s film organization, and has served as its lead writer and editor ever since. A professed Carmelite and currently a board member of SIGNIS Philippines, she has served on Ecumenical and Interreligious Juries at eight international film festivals from 2004 to 2016.
