Aleksandra Mieczynska (*1967) is a professional film expert and a journalist. She works at Radio Fiat in Czestochowa as a deputy director. She wrote her master's thesis on "Protestant ethics in Bergman's films" at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Lodz at the Department of Media and Audiovisual Culture.
2014-2015 she co-organized a series of film meetings entitled "The Polish Decalogue - Reflections on the Commandments in the Perspective of Polish Documentary Films". Currently she writes her PhD dissertation at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, with the working title "Feminine messianic characters in the cinema. A study of the cinema's communication possibilities in the area of values".

"Defiant" by director Visa Koiso-Kanttila wins the Prize of the Church Media Foundation in Finland at the International Chidren's and Youth Festival in Oulu 2025.
The Hof Film Festival is now in its 58th year and has become a hallmark of the city, which is why Hof likes to call itself the “Home of Films,” a phrase that is said to have originated with Wim Wenders. In the late 1960s and 1970s, the Munich film scene came to Hof (...). As a nostalgic reminder, this year there was a 35mm screening of Fassbinder's early work “Gods of the Plague”. Peter Paul Huth reports about the festival.
