Juha Rajamäki studied theology at the University of Helsinki (Master of Theology 1981) and was ordained as a pastor in 1982. He worked at the Communications Centre of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland 1981-1996 as a TV journalist and producer, 1996-2012 as head of the TV and AV department and 2013-2020 as deputy head of church communications. In 1989 he worked as a parish priest in Seinäjoki parish and in 1990-92 as a sailor chaplain at the Church of Finland in London. From 1996 to 2013, he was editor in charge of the religious TV programmes of the Finnish broadcaster YLE and from 2005 to 2021, he was Secretary General of the Church Media Foundation, which supports Finnish documentary filmmakers and filmmakers in the production of programmes on religion and ethics.

At the Oulu's Children's and Youth International Film Festival 2024 the Church Media Foundation presented its "Look at Me..." Award to Nellie Rajala for her film "The Elf Ring".
Film directors Satu Majava and Joel Tainio have won the Church Media Foundation Award with their film «Do No Harm». The documentary was awarded in the domestic competition of the Tampere Film Festival 2024.
The Tampere Film Festival (March 8-13) was organized for the 53rd in 2023. It is one of the three largest short film festivals in Europe, alongside Clermont-Ferrand (France) and Oberhausen (Germany).

The winner of the “Look at me” Award of the Church Media Foundation at the Oulu International Children’s and Youth Film Festival 2020 is director Paul_Anders Simma and his documentary youth film "My Dear Mother".
The Church Media Foundation Prize at the Tampere Film Festival 2017 was given to the director Elina Hirvonen for her documentary film "Boiling Point".
