The jury awards its Prize to "Ladybird, Ladybird" for its convincing portrayal of the causes and consequences of violence in family and society, and its powerful bid for a way out of an unbearable situation via love and trust.
"Ladybird, Ladybird" by Ken Loach won the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury at the Berlinale 1994. The Prize in the Forum was awarded to "The Strategy of the Snail" by Sergio Cabrera from Colombia.
