"Paradiset Brinner" (Paradise is Burning, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Italy 2023) by Mika Gustafson won the Church Film Prize of the INTERFILM Jury, endowed with € 5,000. The film also received the Prize of the Youth Jury. The NDR Film Prize went to "Mummola" (Family Time, Finland, Sweden 2023) by Tia Kouvo, while the Baltic Film Prize went to "Stille Liv" (The Quiet Migration, Denmark 2023) by Malene Choi. The Audience Award of the Lübecker Nachrichten was presented to "Ellos eatnu - La elva leve" (Let the River Flow, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany 2023) by Ole Giæver.

The 65th Nordic Film Days opened on 1 November with the Swedish-Danish film comedy "Together 99" (Tillsammans 99) by Lukas Moodysson. The INTERFILM Jury awards its prize to a film from the Feature Film Competition. The programme in this and eight other sections (Documentary Competition, Nordic Shorts, Film Forum, Young Audience, Series, Immersion 360°, Retrospective and Homage) included over 180 films, which were shown in almost 250 screenings. About 50% of the programme was also available via stream.

On the opening evening, Swedish director Roy Andersson was awarded the festival's Honorary Award. The homage with four of his great film collages, two documentary portraits and a selection of his famous advertising clips was also dedicated to him.
