25-year-old David doesn’t know what to do with his life and his future. His father is terminally ill, his brother mentally handicapped, and his mother works all day. David’s only respite is at Jarle’s fitness studio in Oslo city centre, where he works part time and meets his friends. Jarle treats David like a son, but when Jarle’s real son Lars gets caught up in drug-dealing and the police raid the gym, David is faced with a dilemma. If he is going to be able to see his father again before he dies, he is forced to rat on his friends. His world falls apart: Jarle disowns him, his best friend Khuram turns his back on him and a gang demands that David compensate them for the missing drugs.
