Zlín Film Festival
The Zlín Film Festival for Children and Youth, founded in 1961, is the oldest of its kind and owes its emergence to the film studios in Zlín which were the centre of the children film production in former Czechoslowakia. The festival shows feature films, both for children and youth, animated short films, European debut films and student films. The main award is the Golden Slipper, a name referring to the founder of the film studio, shoe factory owner Jan Antonin Bat'a. An Ecumenical Jury was appointed in 2000 for the first time.
